Spoke Savvy Terms of Use
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Who we are: Spoke Savvy is operated by Cyber Cortex LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("we", "us").
Contact: support@spokesavvy.net
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the Spoke Savvy app and the service behind it. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it; it is part of these terms.
The short version
- You must be at least 13 (16 in the EU and UK). If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
- Spoke Savvy helps you keep track of your bikes and their service. Its due dates are estimates and its chat answers can be wrong. Check the manufacturer's specifications, and have a qualified mechanic do or check work you are not sure of, especially on brakes, steering, wheels, and anything carbon.
- Your bikes, rides, photos, documents, and chats are yours. You let us store and process them only to run the service.
- Don't misuse the service: no malicious or illegal uploads, no attacking or scraping it, no using the chat for things unrelated to bikes or against the AI provider's rules. We can suspend accounts that do.
- The service is free and in beta. It is provided as is, it may change or stop, and our liability is limited as described below.
Who can use Spoke Savvy
You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom. If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you may use Spoke Savvy, including the chat assistant, only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below the minimum age, we will delete it.
You need an Apple or Google account to sign in. Keep access to it secure: anyone who can sign in to it can use your Spoke Savvy account. You may have one account per person, and you may not use someone else's account.
What the service is, and what it is not
Spoke Savvy keeps a record of your bikes, parts, tools, and service history, adds distance from rides you import from Apple Health, estimates when parts are due for service, and offers a chat assistant that answers bike-maintenance questions using your bike's details and the documents you add.
It is a record-keeping and information tool, not a mechanic. In particular:
- Service-due estimates come from the distances and intervals recorded in the app. They do not see the actual condition of your bike. A part can wear out sooner than the app says, for example after a crash, in wet or muddy conditions, or if a ride was never imported. Inspect your bike yourself.
- Chat answers are generated by an AI model and can be wrong, including torque values, part compatibility, procedures, and quotes from documents. Treat them as a starting point, check them against the manufacturer's documentation, and stop and ask a qualified mechanic if you are unsure. Do not rely on the chat for anything where a mistake could cause injury.
- Part suggestions and shopping links are suggestions only. Check that a part fits your bike before you buy it. Purchases happen on the retailer's site under the retailer's terms; we are not a party to them.
- Health data is used only to add distance to your bikes. Spoke Savvy is not a medical or fitness device and gives no health advice.
Working on a bicycle and riding one carry a risk of injury. You are responsible for the work you do on your bikes and for deciding whether a bike is safe to ride.
Your content
"Your content" means what you put into Spoke Savvy: your garage records, rides, photos, documents and web addresses you add, chat messages, and memories.
You keep all rights you have in your content. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, and display your content, and to send it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to run Spoke Savvy for you. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups for the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your content. Only upload or link documents and photos you have the right to use. A manufacturer manual you downloaded for your own bike is fine; a document you were told not to share is not.
The shared library. Some accounts, called curators, can publish documents to a shared library that every rider can read. If you are a curator, each document you publish gives every Spoke Savvy user, and us, a licence to read it and have the assistant quote it within the app, and that document stays in the library after you delete your account, without your name. Publish only documents you have the right to share this way.
Chat output. As between you and us, you may use the assistant's answers to you as you like, subject to the cautions above. Other riders may receive similar answers.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload files you know to be malicious, or content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or sexualises minors;
- try to break, overload, probe, or get around the service's security, quotas, or scanning, or access another person's data;
- scrape the service or use automated means to access it other than through the app;
- use the chat assistant for things that have nothing to do with bikes, to generate harmful content, or in a way that breaks the OpenAI Usage Policies that apply to the model behind it;
- resell the service or present yourself as us.
Uploaded files are scanned for malware, as the Privacy Policy describes. We may refuse or remove any content that breaks these terms.
Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using Spoke Savvy and delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by email.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other riders or the service at risk. Where it is reasonable, we tell you why by email to the address on your account. The specific rule for flagged uploads, and how long we keep a suspended account's data, are in the Privacy Policy. If you think we got it wrong, email us.
We may change, pause, or stop the service or any feature, including ending the beta. If we stop the service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice where we can, so you can delete your data or ask us for a copy.
Plans and price
Spoke Savvy is free during the beta. Some accounts have higher chat allowances than others; allowances can change. If we ever charge for anything, we will tell you the price and terms before you pay, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
Third-party services
Spoke Savvy relies on services we do not control: Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, Apple Health, Amazon Web Services for hosting, OpenAI for the chat assistant, and websites you ask the app to fetch or open. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Apple is not responsible for the service or for supporting it; contact us instead.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that its estimates or chat answers will be accurate, or that it is fit for a particular purpose. It is a beta: features may break, and data could be lost, so keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.
- If we are found liable to you despite these terms, our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently nothing) or US $50. This is a limit on what we could owe, not an amount anyone is entitled to.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law forbids limiting it, or for fraud.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims by others caused by content you uploaded or by your breaking these terms, unless the claim is our fault.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live in the EU or UK, or anywhere else whose consumer law gives you more protection, you keep those protections and can bring a claim in your local courts.
Before bringing a claim, please email us; most problems can be fixed that way.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect, by email to the address on your account or in the app. If you keep using Spoke Savvy after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, delete your account.
Everything else
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over Spoke Savvy, and we will tell you if that happens. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Spoke Savvy.
